The Story
PT. SPK (SANATA) was originally conceived in Sydney, Australia back in 2011. Our Director, Onesiforus Elihu Susanto, is an Australian Certified Contractor who graduated from The University of New South Wales with a Bachelor degree in Construction Management and Property. He then continued his postgraduate study at The University of Sydney while running the construction business he launched in 2015.
Equipped with experience in a wide-range of construction works and projects in Australia, he collaborated with our Commissioner Sugandi Susanto, who has over 40 years of local construction experience to initiate the commencement of this project.
Both men have a collective vision to improve construction standards in Indonesia.
Both men have continuously been working on ways to introduce, innovate, and implement the construction methods, materials, and techniques that meet rigorous and even exceed international standards.

Materials
Indonesia is generally said to require higher quality construction materials compared to Australia, due to its tropical geographical nature and weather conditions, which are much more humid, with heavier rainfall.
However, the reality is quite the opposite.
While Indonesian construction needs greater attention to detail due to the climate, this is where we step in, offering our clients Australian-Standard Materials to be used mainly in our residential projects, ensuring our buildings are safer and stronger in enduring Indonesian weather.
Why does adhering to Australian Standards make a big difference?
The Australian Government, through Standards Australia, have a strict series of testing systems. Whatever construction product that passes through this testing mechanism is guaranteed to have a very high standard, and therefore results in noticeably stronger and long-lasting builds.
Tools
When undertaking finishing works, one of the factors that determines the outcome is the tools used by the workers. We found that there is still an absence of decent tools – especially hand tools – in the local market. This condition is sometimes underrated yet has direct ramifications on the quality and speed of work.
Our team sensed that issue and decided to elevate the game by sourcing our key tools directly from Australia, which are substantially better, in the hope of boosting the performance of our on-site workers.
Methods
As crucial as the tools & materials, construction methods equally play a big part in construction projects. It is like having cutting-edge artillery without knowing how to use it.
Our director’s qualification and experience in wide-range of construction works and projects in Australia has given our business comparative advantage and allowed our team to have a different perspective and standard in carrying out the works. Through these distinct approaches, we can eliminate numbers of construction risks that arise from lack of construction knowledge.
